GP Training and Medical Education at Hayes Medical Centre

At Hayes Medical Centre, we are proud to be an approved specialist GP training practice. We play an active role in shaping the future of healthcare by supporting the education and training of doctors and other healthcare professionals.

GP Trainees
As part of our commitment to excellence, we have several GP trainees working within the practice at any given time. These trainees are fully qualified doctors who have completed their hospital-based training and are now undertaking specialist training in general practice. Each trainee works under the close supervision of a senior doctor within the practice. Occasionally, another doctor may observe trainee consultations for educational purposes.
Medical Students
We also host medical students who are attached to the practice for short placements, typically lasting 2–3 weeks. These placements allow students to gain valuable insights into general practice. If you prefer not to have a medical student present during your consultation, simply inform our Patient Services team, and your wishes will be respected.
Training for Other Healthcare Professionals
In addition to GP training, we support the development of physician associates, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. As part of their studies, these students may sit in on consultations with doctors or other members of our team. You will always be informed if a student is present, and your participation in their education is greatly appreciated.
We understand that there may be occasions when you prefer not to have a student involved in your care. Please do not hesitate to let us know, and we will accommodate your preference.
All visitors are asked to respect the privacy of others and to wait until called forward. If you would like to speak to a receptionist or other member of staff in private, please ask.

There is a quiet room available for anyone who would prefer to wait in private, for instance with a distressed child. There are two patient toilets: One accessible toilet off the waiting area and a bigger toilet for disabled patients.

We offer a wide variety of up-to-date diagnostic and therapeutic services in a modern, light and friendly environment and are very well supported by our enthusiastic nursing and administrative staff.

•ABPM (24-Hour Blood Pressure Monitoring): Our advanced Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring service allows for accurate measurement of blood pressure over a 24-hour period. This helps in diagnosing and managing hypertension effectively, ensuring better health outcomes.

•ECG We offer electrocardiogram (ECG)  diagnostic services to assess and monitor heart health. These tests are essential for detecting cardiac conditions and ensuring timely, personalised treatment. Your well-being is our priority.
